TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These general terms and conditions apply to all purchases whether done online or in person at our shop La Maison du hamac Inc. The terms and conditions are enforceable under the laws of the Province of Quebec. La Maison du hamac Inc. reserves the right to amend their terms and conditions without prior notice. It is incumbent on the client to make himself aware of the terms and conditions at the time of purchase.

Once your order has been placed, you will receive a detailed confirmation. All orders are shipped from our Montreal-based warehouse. You will benefit from our quick and efficient delivery service. Once again, we wish you remind you that we do not act as resellers for anyone else’s products. All of our products are ethically produced directly from the artisans with a high importance paid to renewable resources.

Availability of products:
La Maison du hamac works hard to guarantee the on-going availability of our goods and services and we review our inventory constantly. Despite our best efforts, we are unable assure the constant availability of all products. La Maison du hamac regrets the occasional lack of inventory and undertakes to advise all clients affected as soon as possible

Price:
All prices are stated in Canadian Dollars, before taxes and shipping costs. The purchase is payable in full at the time of order. All international orders will be subject to excise and duty fees as required by the country of delivery. La Maison du hamac reserves the right to modify all shipping fees as it deems appropriate without prior notice.

Taxes:
In general, taxes are calculated on all orders based on the purchase price including the shipping cost.  All orders within Canada are subject to the Canadian Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 5%.  Additionally, the Provincial Sales Tax will be applied dependent on the Province or Territory involved. International orders are exempt from Canadian taxes but may be taxed in keeping with the laws of the destination country. No tax is charged on gift certificates however purchases made with gift certificates will be subject to tax.

Shipping charges:
All purchases of $50.00 and more will be eligible for free shipping within specified zones in Quebec and Ontario. All other shipping fees will be calculated on a function of weight and volume without surcharge to the client. If you are unable to find the applicable shipping cost, please contact us to learn more. We will ship only when we know that you have accepted the total cost.

Payment methods:
La Maison du hamac has a highly secured online sales platform which is known for its flexibility and ease of use. You can make your payment using your credit card or your PayPal account.

When placing your order, you will be automatically directed to our secure payment platform. La Maison du hamac will immediately send you an e-mail confirming receipt of payment and the details of your purchase.

However, should you prefer not to transact online, you are welcome to print your order and submit it with payment by certified cheque or money order. You may also order over the phone. We will complete a purchase order and provide you with an order number. Regardless of the means of payment chosen, rest assured that your order will be expedited with speed, care and accuracy.

Delivery:
La Maison du hamac has agreements with most all delivery services and is equipped to ship most anywhere. We can ship to the geographic location that best suits you. We act on orders in the sequence they are received. Normal delivery times are 2-3 days within Quebec, 3-7 days elsewhere in Canada and 7-10 days for the United States or overseas. La Maison du hamac will not be held responsible for shipping delays for situations beyond its control. We are able to guarantee same day delivery for certain regions of Quebec and next day delivery for orders shipping to Ontario and the Maritimes. Notwithstanding the aforementioned, we will not be held responsible for any delivery delays for reasons beyond our control. In the event of a rupture of inventory, we will inform you immediately and you will have the choice to wait or to cancel your order.

Your order is insured for loss or damage during transport. We ask that you inform us of any delays or damage incurred in the shipping process.

Guarantees, Exchanges, Refunds :

Guarantee:

Our clients are of the utmost importance to us and our goal is to leave you entirely satisfied in your experience. We pride ourselves in a high level of rigour with regards to our products and services. All products sold by La Maison du hamac are brand new and 100% covered by our quality pledge. Given that our hammocks are artisanally made of natural fibres and wood, some manufacturing differences may occur. A variance in colour or shape does not entail a decrease in the level of security or safety. We stand by our products and offer a one year warrantee from the date of purchase*
*Some exclusions may apply.

In the case of a fault in our product while the warrantee is still valid, we will repair of replace the item. Should the item be discontinued, we reserve the right to replace it with an item of equal value.

Our warrantee does not cover products used for commercial purposes, that have been modified in any fashion or that have become damaged through poor installation or assembly. We will not cover damage caused by careless use, overexposure to the sun or inclement weather conditions, natural disasters or faults that have not been reported in a timely fashion.

The original bill is required for all claims.

All claims whilst covered by our guarantee must be submitted to us along with proof of purchase and date. It must also come with the details of the nature of the claim and supporting photos. The claim will be analysed by a representative of La Maison du hamac in a reasonable timeframe and we will try to find an agreeable solution for all. If the article needs to be returned to us, we will make a formal request.

Exchanges

If the product proves to be faulty or not exactly what was originally ordered, La Maison du hamac will gladly exchange it. All you have to do is advise us of the situation within 15 days of purchase and return it in the original wrapping along with the bill and an explanation of what is wrong with it.  The exchange will be done on the spot upon receipt of the product.  We will handle the cost of the return shipping as well as assume the cost of the return post. No Cash on Delivery (COD) will be accepted, whatever the reason. The costs of returning or exchanging an article for any reason other than the defect such as exchange of model, size and colour will remain the responsibility of the customer.

Since hammocks are hand-made and made from natural products such as cotton and wood, some minor irregularities in shapes and colors.  These in no way compromise the safety of the article and are unavoidable. They are not grounds for a return due to a defective item.

Should the item be discontinued, we reserve the right to replace it with an equivalent item or to make a refund.

For any request related to the exchange of the defective item, the customer must first submit a complaint to La Maison du hamac. The application must be accompanied by relevant details (attach photos where applicable) and a legible copy of the original proof of purchase. Following receipt and review of the application, a representative of La Maison du hamac will contact the client as soon as possible to follow up and try to find a solution. If the article has to be returned, an explicit and written authorization from La Maison du hamac is necessary. Requests should be addressed to:

Refund :

We do our best to make your shopping experience at La Maison du hamac a very satisfying one. To do this, we take care to give you all the information needed to help you in your choice of hammock. However, if you are not completely satisfied with an item or do not agree with it, you may, subject to the conditions specified below, request a refund within 14 (fourteen) days of the date purchase. Products covered by our return policy must be returned in their original packaging, unused and in perfect condition for resale, accompanied by the original invoice. Following the examination of the returned items, the refund is made according to the initial method of payment. La Maison du hamac reserves the right not to accept the request for reimbursement if the required conditions are not respected. We will only refund the price of the returned product (s). Shipping and return costs remain the responsibility of the customer. There is no exchange or refund on items in liquidation, sold as is or demonstrators.

We can also make a refund in case of non-availability of an item ordered, the loss of a package upon shipment and if a suitable replacement product is unavailable at the time of transaction.
